My name is Danielle, and I recently finished my Master's degree at the University of Alberta, studying food science & microbiology. I just moved to Cochrane in August and currently I work at Foothills Hospital in Calgary. I spent about 1.5 years volunteering with dogs at the Edmonton Humane Society, but had to stop because I moved away. I also grew up with several dogs, including a border collie/Australian cattle dog mix, a Siberian husky/rough collie mix, and a husky/German shepherd mix. I'm an active individual, and whether it's playing volleyball, scuba diving, or a quick mountain getaway for some skiing or hiking, I'm always looking for something to do. Therefore I'm a perfect candidate to care for your dog(s) while you're away, no matter how energetic they are!
I have experience walking two dogs at once, feeding dogs with different dietary requirements (including allergies), providing medications and ultimately showing your dogs the attention they need while you're away! I am comfortable with dogs of all ages and sizes (large dogs are very welcome!). Additionally, I am only working part time at the moment, so I have a reasonable amount of time available to look after pets. For these reasons, I would love to provide my dog and/or cat sitting services for you and your furry best friends!
Danielle did a great job looking after our dog and cat (and our house) while we were on vacation. She even stayed late to ensure that our pets would be cared for in case our flights were delayed. We would definitely have Danielle look after our fur-kids again.
Danielle is a wonderful sitter. Our home, two cats and dog were well looked after. I will definitely be asking her to sit for us again.
As a volunteer in the dog socialization program at the Edmonton Humane Society, I am confident in dog walking (including more than one dog at once), feeding dogs (including those with allergies) and, of course, spending time with all types of dogs of various ages and sizes. Additionally, although it is not a formal course, in order to volunteer with dogs at the EHS we are taught to identify and react properly to different types of dog behaviour including anxiety, impulsiveness, aggression, and fear.
