Hi!

My name is Emily and I'm a grad student with a flexible schedule, who also happens to be a life long animal lover! I give off a calm and assertive presence in the company of animals, which helps in not only training animals but ensuring that their safety is guaranteed. I've owned dogs, cats, and fish my whole life, and I've also been a horseback rider. My experience with animals contains training with lots of love, so your pet will be in excellent hands. I have experience with animals with behavioural issues, health problems, and the elderly four-legged friends. While my experience with exotic animals is limited, I am a fast learner who loves research, ensuring that I will be able to take of the feathered and scaled pets.

I have decided to offer dog-walking and pet-sitting as a welcome break from academic studies, as I have always found work with animals incredibly rewarding. Having had experience with my own variety of pets, as well as a large network of friends with animals, I approach animals with kindness and controlled play. I aim to understand each animal's particular needs, while encouraging the best behaviour appropriate to their kind! I have cat-sitted for friends and family, as well as dog-walked in Montreal while I was living there for a broader network of people. I am an active person (minus jogging!) and enjoy the fresh air and play as much as your pups.

While I do offer boarding and doggy-daycare, I do have an ex-feral cat as my pet. She spends quite a bit of time outdoors, as she pleases, and her reaction to dogs is to simply be where the dog is not. If you wish to board your dog at my house, I would love to have a brief discussion with you to ensure that the temperament of your dog will allow for my cat to escape as needed! The safety of animals is my priority, and I hope that you can respect my right to refuse a booking if I feel it wouldn't be a good fit.

The length of visits depend upon the needs of your animal - I'm happy to spend a longer time excercising your shepherds and retrievers! I'm experienced with animals who have health issues, and are dependent on medication. I've managed to surprise vets with my ease at giving pills to the most ornery of cats! Grooming is not my forte, but I am able to clip nails if necessary or if the animal is in distress, I am aware of some basic first aid for animals.
