Hello! My name is Andrea. I am a 25 year old professional pet/house sitter and part time online student with Queen's University. I have a love of all animals, and I have successfully looked after many pets and homes throughout the years. I take my role and responsibilities very seriously and strive to be the best sitter you've ever had!
My previous and ongoing clients will tell you that their home was even cleaner than when they left it and their animals were happy and healthy upon their return. I always bond with the lovely animals I get to spend time with and have been known to shed a tear or two as I leave. I take the time to bond with the pets I take care of and I truly come to care for your animal family members.
I have grown up around a plethora of animals; dogs, cats, newts, toads, hamsters, skinny pigs, spiders, etc. You name it, I have interacted with and, either solely or mutually, taken care of and loved it.
My family has had one or more dogs my entire life and I have always helped care for and look after them. I am lovingly referred to as "Mom Number Two" as my family dogs gravitate towards me and follow me like little ducklings, any time my mother goes away.
I am very experienced in dog walking, administering medication, training, light grooming etc. I have also had to handle medical emergencies requiring vet visits and excel at keeping a calm head, reacting properly and taking care of the situation quickly and efficiently.
I have always spent time with, helped care for and aided in the rehabilitation of foster dogs. My aunt has been extremely active with local dog rescues for many, many years. I have spent weeks at a time at her home with 3-5 dogs at once. I have walked, fed and taken care of them under supervision and independently. This has given me experience in caring for senior dogs, dogs with special needs (esophageal/stomach disorders, OCD, separation anxiety, etc) on top of usual care.
Overall, I have cared for and loved animals my entire life and I feel a great sense of satisfaction in providing pet and homeowners with a sense of comfort and reassurance that their animals and home are in excellent hands while they travel. I would be happy to do just that for you and yours! Please see below for a more in-depth description of the services I offer!
Dog walking sessions with me are 30 mins long. I either follow the route the dog is used to (via owner instructions or visual cues from the dog if they have a set route and happily follow it) or I plan out a route in your neighbour prior to my arrival. I am available weekdays and weekends due to my very flexible part time schooling. My rate is $15 per walk, $10 for each additional pet.
I am also available for home visits, 30 mins each. I will let your pets out, feed them any appropriate meals, make sure they have water, play with them and give them the attention and affection they may be craving if their family is away for the day. My rate is $15 for a single visit or $25 for two visits in the same day, depending on your needs.
House sitting is by far my most requested service. Unless previously booked, I am available to come stay in your home, taking care of your pets, for the entire duration of your trip/time away. As my schooling is online I do not leave your home or your pets unattended for anything longer than a trip to the grocery store. I will spend my time keeping your pets in their usual schedule of walks, meals, treats and playtime. I will also take care of watering any plants, bringing in any mail and general upkeep/household tasks. I take great pride in leaving your house as if I was never there or, more often, even cleaner than when you left with happier, healthier pets for you to come home to! My rate for this service is $40 per night, per pet.
Andrea was responsive, caring and provide great care for our cat and dog at short notice.
