Hi I am Meg, an experienced cat-lover in Toronto!

I've had cats for most of my life, fostered rescue cats, and volunteer with a large animal shelter in Toronto. I absolutely love spending time with cats: I love playing with them, stroking them, brushing them, and even just being around them and watching them do quirky things around the house. I cannot think of a more wonderful way to spend my time than taking care of these beautiful and fascinating creatures :) Unfortunately, our current landlord isn't comfortable with his tenants having cats and I absolutely adore our apartment and do not wish to move. However, I frequently cat-sit for friends and really enjoy the experience. Therefore, I have decided to give cat-sitting through this website a shot! I will be donating the proceeds from my cat-sitting to the shelter that I volunteer at, so it is a win-win-win overall :) As a bonus, I have been trained to work with cats who have been under-scoialized or are anxious, fearful, depressed, or frustrated. I also have experience in behaviour modification and clicker training, as well as socializing kittens and younger cats. Some of the ways I do this is through play therapy, food bribes, talking softly to them, brushing them, and plain old fashioned patience ;)

The cat in the video on my profile had high anxiety, was under-socialized as a kitten, and had been rescued from a stressful hoarding situation. To have her sit on my lap while I pet her was incredibly rewarding! I am able to cat-sit in the East End of the city of Toronto and in the downtown area. My visits usually last from 30-60 mins depending on your preference. Apart from feeding your cats and checking in on them, I will also brush them, pet them, and cuddle them if they like these activities. In addition, I will happily play with them to ensure that they are stimulated and get some exercise. In fact, I've put together a little kit of interactive toys (all either new or properly cleaned) that I can bring with me. I can use your cat's toys, of course, if you prefer. I will keep in touch while you are away as much as you like and send you updates about your cat, including videos and photos :) I also have a green thumb (I have dozens of orchids and grow tomatoes, chillis and herbs during the warmer months) and would be happy to take care of your plants while you are away.
